In 2009 the group was chosen to perform 'Rags to Riches' at the Leatherhead Drama Festival, where they received nominations for ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Festival’. Richard Roberts, a KV member and the author of the play they performed, was nominated for ‘best new script’. They were then selected to perform again at the Woking Drama Festival. During the same year the main group also performed 'Disco Inferno'; the show was great fun and had a cast of approximately 50 children. This show earned a nomination for a NODA Youngstars Award.

Due to winning at the Woking Festival, we were chosen to take part in the National Drama Festival Association All Winners Festival in 2010, an incredible honour. We were thrilled when the group won this festival, and, in turn, were crowned Best Youth Group in the UK.

In 2007 KVODS (as the group was then known) performed 'Oliver!'. Like any production of this show,

youngsters were needed to take part, so we advertised and the response was fantastic! It was from this that we decided to relaunch the youth group, which had initially been run prior to 2007 but we had, unfortunately, lost the dedicated people that had continued to run it.

So, a previous member of the Youth group stepped in and Young KVODS was re-established at the end of 2007. Their first performance was at our annual Christmas concert. But in 2008 they got to perform their first stand-alone musical 'Guys & Dolls Jr'. The show was a huge success, with the cast performing to sell out audiences every night.

The group went on to perform 'Annie Jr' in 2010, then in 2011 the group took part in a charity concert (Voice in a Million) at the O2 Arena and were fortunate enough to repeat the experience in 2013 at Wembley Arena. They also performed Bugsy Malone.

In 2012 the group performed in Sunday Night Live at Her Majesty's Theatre, Haymarket, and 'Joseph & the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat', which earned them a nomination for the NODA Youngstars Award.

In 2013, 'Cats' was performed to a sell-out audience. Due to the popularity of the show amongst the children, we set up Mini KVODS for 3-7 year olds.
