Kingston Vale Theatre Group performs several shows every year.
The adult group, most years, performs two musicals and a play, the majority of which are put on in purpose built theatres in the Kingston borough. All musicals usually run for four nights – Wednesday to Saturday. Occasionally we run for five performances that could include either a Tuesday evening or a Saturday matinee.
Rehearsals are held twice a week with one night for chorus and a second night for principal roles. As it gets closer to show week we may add in a few Sundays, depending on how long we've had to rehearse the production.
Kingston Vale Youth Theatre puts on one big musical production every year, which
is usually held at Kingston Grammar School's Queen Elizabeth II Performing Arts Centre over three days (there are two performances on a Saturday), then either perform in Sunday Night Live at Her Majesty's Theatre, or in a play or pantomime of their choice in a school hall, to which friends and family are invited for a lovely dinner and disco after the show.
For most shows, KVTG asks the regional representative of the National Operatic and Dramatic Society to come along and review the performances of both adult and youth groups.
